Student Scholarships
Enable further education and provide a viable future option for those in their mid-teens. These teenagers are especially vulnerable as they can be viewed by relatives as “something that can be sold”. These funds will be set up in a pool to allow for some living costs and education/training costs to enable them to get a trade and ultimately paid employment.- Provide for a scholarship - $200 per month per child
Rice Seedlings
Help them to grow their own food. The Baan Birk Faa home has been growing rice to help provide food and funds for not only their home but other hill tribe homes as well. The children help in the rice fields and the homes work together and share the harvest with others. In 2008 the harvest was 120 tons of rice.- Buy rice seedlings - $10 buys 250sq mtrs of rice seedlings
Land for Baan Birk Faa (translates as “home with a deposit on heaven”)
The ethos of this home is to be a blessing to others and count on the Lord to supply their own needs. All 32 children and 2 houseparents live in a medium sized rented home. One of their dreams is to be able to grow their own food on their own land and be independent from the whims of landlords. A suitable piece of land which will allow this to happen is available but financial support is needed to purchase this.- Land – target $237,000
